Frequently Asked Questions

  • Starlight Pet Care offers premium overnight stays in a calm, dog-centric home designed around comfort, routine, and emotional well-being. Your dog become one of the pack, joining Hank (the protector) and Buck (everybody’s best friend).

For pets who are more comfortable at home, I also provide 30- and 60-minute visits throughout the Tulsa area for playtime, walks, feeding, fresh water, support with special health needs, and real companionship.

I take time to understand each pet's unique personality and needs so they feel safe, understood, and cared for while you’re away. You’ll receive regular photo and video updates so you always feel connected to your furry family.

If you’re looking for thoughtful, loving care where your pet is truly seen and cared for, you’re in the right place!

  • Every stay at Starlight begins with a meet-and-greet. This gives you and your dog a chance to tour the space, meet Hank (the protector) and Buck (the best friend), and make sure the environment feels like the right fit for everyone involved.

Pick-up and drop-off are included. Before your dog’s stay, you’re encouraged to pack familiar items from home such as their bed, favorite toys, treats, blanket, or anything with a familiar scent. These comforts help dogs settle in more easily and feel secure in a new environment.

Your dog will has access to their own private resting space where they can decompress, relax, and sleep comfortably. Soft music—typically classical or spa music—plays throughout the home to create a calm, peaceful atmosphere.

Care is highly personalized at Starlight. Close attention is paid to each dog’s personality, energy level, comfort, and emotional needs so their experience can be adjusted accordingly. Some dogs prefer quiet companionship, some enjoy extra outdoor time, and others thrive with more play and enrichment.

The goal is always to provide a calm, low-stress environment where dogs feel safe, understood, and genuinely cared for. Guests receive plenty of affection and attention throughout their stay, along with homemade treats and outdoor adventures such as walks, park visits, and other enrichment activities tailored to what they enjoy most.

If this sounds like the kind of environment you’d want for your dog, schedule a meet-and-greet today.

  • At Starlight Pet Care, dogs stay in a peaceful home environment designed around comfort, routine, emotional well-being, and individualized attention.

Here is a list of our standards:

    • One dog family at a time — your dog(s) receive my full attention. No overlapping guests means no compatibility concerns, just a calm, steady environment. My two dogs, Hank and Buck, are part of the home and carefully introduced when it’s a good fit.

    • A peaceful home environment — soft music, a slower pace, and space to settle in and feel safe.

    • Structured, predictable routines — dogs adjust and relax much faster this way.

    • Outdoor enrichment — walks, backyard play, dog parks, hikes, and other daily adventures tailored to your dog’s personality, energy level, and your comfort preferences.

    • A private, cozy sleep space — their own room to decompress, rest, and feel safe.

    • Personalized care — I pay close attention to your dog(s) and adjust everything to your dog’s personality, energy, and needs.

    • Open communication — I share regular photo and video updates so you can see how your dog(s) are settling in and enjoying their time.

    • Health and safety standards — vaccinations are required for all visiting dogs (rabies, bordetella, and distemper/parvo for dogs under 3 years).

Starlight Pet Care is designed for dog owners looking for a more personal, peaceful alternative to traditional boarding. It’s a home where your dog is cared for like family.

If this sounds like the kind of environment you’d want for your dog, I’d love to hear from you.

  • Starlight Petcare is a great fit for people who:

    • have long or unpredictable work days

    • can’t always make it home during the day

    • are heading out of town and want more than a quick drop-in or traditional boarding

    • have dogs who enjoy a calm, low-stress environment

    • have dogs who would love a playmate

    • just want peace of mind knowing their pet is truly okay

If this sounds like you, I’d love to connect!

  • Before I start any 30- or 60-minute in-home pet care visits, I will come by your home at a time that works for you, meet your dog(s) and/or cat(s), and go over their usual routine. There's no charge, it's just to make sure everything feels comfortable for you, your pets, and me.

It usually takes about 15 minutes. We'll go over things like:

    • feeding, backyard play, walks, meds — all the basics

    • your pet’s needs, personality, and quirks

    • vet information (in the unlikely event the unexpected comes up)

    • anything else you want me to know so they (and you!) feel safe and happy

I’ll take notes throughout and send you a written care summary for you to review. You can approve it or adjust anything you’d like — it becomes a simple reference we keep on file and update as needed.

And that’s it — I’m ready to start caring for your pets!

  • These two are the happy presence behind the scenes and part of what makes the environment here feel so calm and welcoming.

Hank is a calm, easygoing, and observant Great Pyrenees, while Buck, an Australian Kelpie, brings in the playful energy.

Both are kind, well-socialized, and respectful of other dogs’ space and personalities.

They help create a balanced, low-stress environment where visiting dogs can feel comfortable, safe, and at ease. They truly love having new friends come to stay.
